Physiotherapist Jolien Verdegem

Jolien Verdegem studied 5 years of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Ghent, Belgium. After her graduation in 2011, she travelled to Myanmar where she worked as voluntary physiotherapist in a Hospital for Paralympic athletes with amputations.

At the University of Ghent Jolien achieved a post graduate degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (Manual Therapy). She is IFOMPT (International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists) registered since 2014.

Jolien had the chance to be trained by a therapist Gnatology and Jolien got specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of orofacial pain and temporomandibular joint disfunctions.

Jolien followed a course Manual Therapy of the Cervical Spine by Toby Hall with the focus on Mulligan therapy for people with cervical articular joint disfunctions and cervicogenic headache.

Last year, Jolien decided to move to Canada and advance her knowledge and skills in Manual Therapy. The moment she met Ross McFadyen she was convinced of his vision in Orthopeadic Physiotherapy. At Therapeutic Edge Clinic Jolien found the good match to grow and improve as Orthopaedic Manual Therapist. Jolien is a member of PABC.

Jolien spends most of her free time outdoors, running, swimming, cycling, rock climbing, hiking or gardening. Other hobbies are Capoeira, African and contemporary dance. She likes to do all kinds of sports that work on different aspects of the body, endurance and flexibility.
