Lower back pain is something nearly all of us experiences at some point in our lives. In fact, close to 85% of the population will come across this common injury. The majority of lower back pain, however is relatively easy to eliminate if properly diagnosed and treated. Some injuries are a result of a protruding disc or a pulled muscle, but quite often it is due to stiffness of the low back joints and loss of stability due to weak muscles around the lower back and abdominal area.

People who lead a more sedentary lifestyle due to work or other factors are more prone to this injury. Long periods of inactivity followed by bursts of activity such as playing sport, lifting, and or gardening can sometimes cause lower back pain. This type of ailment responds well to manual therapy through the reduction of initial pain and disability followed by a supervised prescribed rehabilitation program. This will help strengthen the back and abdomen, increase flexibility and help prevent future injury.
