Craniosacral therapy is a gentle form of manual therapy used to facilitate healing after physical injury or other trauma. Within physiotherapy, craniosacral therapy is used to treat a variety of conditions including head, neck and back injury, headache, dizziness, TMJ syndrome and thoracic outlet syndrome. Craniosacral therapy is also used to treat the sequelae of dental surgery, orthodontics and birth trauma.
Because craniosacral therapy can help to decrease pain and regulate the body’s response to stress, craniosacral therapy may also benefit people with systemic disorders such as fibromyalgia, chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome and environmental illness, as well as people who are terminally ill.
Craniosacral therapy is appropriate for people of all ages—adults, children and infants.
